Prize-awarding ceremony: MGY Region CM awarded the prizes to the winer golfers

The 5th National Sports Festival is set to take place in December 2024. As part of the event, the Regions and States golf tournament will be held from December 7 to 9, 2024, at the Nay Pyi Taw City Golf Course. To prepare for the tournament, a qualifying competition and prize-presenting ceremony for golfers represented Magway Region were organized at the Phankha Myay Golf Club in Magway on November 24.

The event was attended by the Chief Minister of Magway Region, U Tint Lwin, Region Ministers, senior officials from the Magway military station, departmental officials, golf enthusiasts, and participating golfers. The Chief Minister officially opened the competition with the first ceremonial golf shot.

The qualifying tournament aimed to select the Magway Region's golf team for the 5th National Sports Festival and identify the best players to form a squad represented the Region. A total of 35 golfers from the region’s seven districts competed in the event, and five players were selected as the selections for the team represented Magway Region.

In the evening, the prize presenting ceremony and dinner was held and the prizes were awarded the winners by the Chief Minister and officials and they enjoyed the dinner together and the entertainment programs were watched.

The golfers represented Magway Region are rigorously training and preparing systematically to achieve success and win medals in the golf event of the 5th National Sports Festival. It is reported that the team will travel to Nay Pyi Taw, where the competition is set to take place, on December 4 to participate in the tournament.
