India Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala on Friday. Developed at a cost of 8,800 rupee crore, the port is India’s first dedicated container transshipment facility.

The Port holds strategic and economic significance, serving as a crucial step toward enhancing the nation’s maritime logistics, boosting trade efficiency and reducing dependency on foreign ports for transshipment.
