President Xi Jinping meets with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon

China stands ready to develop the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era with Tajikistan, Chinese President Xi Jinping made the remarks during his talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Friday.

Xi added that the two countries should strengthen law enforcement and security cooperation to effectively fight the three forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism, and expand people-to-people and cultural cooperation in fields such as youth exchanges, media, think tanks, women affairs and tourism.

After the talks, Xi and Rahmon signed a joint statement on the elevation of bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era, and witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents in various fields. Xi arrived in Tajikistan on Thursday evening after concluding a state visit to Kazakhstan, where he also attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Astana.
