President Meeting with Middle East Ambassadors

In a diplomatic milestone, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe convened a significant meeting with Ambassadors from ten Middle Eastern nations at the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday.

Led by the Palestinian Ambassador, representatives of Egypt, Qatar, UAE, Libya, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iraq attended the meeting. During the meeting, the President called for continued humanitarian supplies, including contributions by Sri Lanka, to Gaza and Sri Lanka’s involvement in Red Sea security operations.

During the discussions, the President outlined Sri Lanka’s comprehensive foreign policy, emphasizing the strengthening of relations with Asia, West Asia, Africa and the Middle East in addition to existing relations with the West.
