President Lee proposes three-step denuclearization plan for North Korea

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has revealed his three-step plan for denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula for the first time in an interview with a Japanese newspaper on Thursday. The president emphasized close cooperation with the U.S. and creating favorable conditions through inter-Korean dialogue. In his Liberation Day address, President Lee Jae Myung said the ultimate goal of denuclearization is a Korean Peninsula that is free of nuclear weapons.
