President Boluarte visits flooded areas near Lima

Peru President Dina Boluarte on Monday travelled by helicopter over the areas near the Chillon River in Lima, that were severely flooded following the passage of Cyclone Yaku. Boluarte said they were seeking to find areas vulnerable to landslides.

In the Huaycoloro and Santa Eulalia communities residents had to move their belongings, saving them from the strong, overflowing currents of the river. Five people have been killed in multiple incidents related to the floodings across Peru. Cyclone Yaku has brought in heavy rains in several coastal regions of northern Peru and southern Ecuador.
