Preserving Tradition: Gathering of Kayin Literature and Culture Committee

Kayin Literature and Culture Committee (Universities of Yangon) organized a gathering ceremony in order of the 85th Kayin New Year Day on 22nd December. Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint attended the ceremony, held at the Recreation Center of Yangon University.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister urged all to cooperate in an effort of peace and prosperity of the union with the spirit of unity and harmony. Union Minister U Zaw Aye Maung also made a speech and stressed the needs to preserve and safeguard the tangible and intangible of all national races.

It was followed by the Kayin traditional performances and giving speeches. The Union Minister and the Deputy Minister also presented cash assistance to the Kayin Literature and Culture Committee (Universities of Yangon).
