Preserving Literature: Myanmar Literary Development Committee

Myanmar Literary Development Committee held its meeting at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on 14th November.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Dr. NyuntPe stressed to emphasize on developing Cyber platforms to preserve Myanmar literary and ethnic dialects. Myanmar Literary Development Committee was formed on 25th September in 2023 and developing projects has been carried out continuously with the collaboration of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Science and Technology.

He added that necessary infrastructure, tools and equipment are planned to purchase as per fiscal year, and also the experts and specialists from relevant sectors are assigned to accelerate project implementation. Working committees are urged to present regular reports on their yearly outcomes.

The results of the projects will be used in developing spelling checking and text prediction applications which can benefit to every individual to secure correct Myanmar spelling and sentences.

The Union Minister also expressed his aspiration in obtaining best outcomes of the projects to develop nation’s digital economy sector and enhance e-Governance network. Then, the Deputy Ministers Dr. ZawMyint and Dr. Moe ZawTun clarified the projects. Next, the project director and committees’ representatives presented reports on current work implementation and circumstances, project development process as well as technology and linguistics matters.
