Preserving Heritage: Renovation of pagoda and Pagoda Digital Directory

A work coordination meeting on Drafting the Master Plan for Renovation of Shwezigon Pagoda in Bagan Archaeological Zone was held at the Pagoda Board of Trustees Office in Nyaung Oo on Saturday.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin attended the meeting and urged officials to complete the drafting of Master Plan in the designated time. Attendees discussed the work undertakings and plans to execute the tasks without damaging the ancient heritage.

After the meeting, the Union Minister oversaw the religious edifices in the pagoda precinct. They also inspected the plans for building Box Culvert near Tharapa Gate. Then, the Union Minister attended the meeting for installation of Pagoda Digital Directory in Bagan-Nyaung Oo area. He urged all to make cooperative efforts for successful completion of the project.

It is learnt that 17 prominent pagodas in Mandalay Region have already set up the directory system using Touch Screens, and plans are underway to set up more facilities at 14 pagodas. Arrangements will be made to add these information to the Pagoda Digital Directory Portal.
