Preparatory Meeting: Plans for domestically manufactured vehicles

Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr. Charlie Than attended a preparatory meeting on Saturday to accelerate processes for domestically manufactured vehicles, motorcycles, body-assembled vehicles, and agricultural vehicles.

The meeting discussed reconstituting the Automotive Policy Supervision Committee to oversee the systematic transition to SKD, CKD and localization systems, increase locally produced vehicle parts, and strengthen factory inspections to meet quality and safety standards.

Discussion also included forming subcommittees, drafting SOPs for vehicle inspections, establishing inspection teams, and coordinating with relevant departments to address challenges faced by private sector entrepreneurs.
