Preparations Underway: Invest Myanmar Summit 2019 To Be Held In January

Preparations are underway to hold Invest Myanmar Summit 2019.

A press conference on the Summit was held on Tuesday afternoon which will take place on the 28th and 29th of January next year at Myanmar International Convention Centre II in Nay Pyi Taw. The Summit to be organized by Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry is to help domestic and foreign investors know the current investment situation and opportunities in Myanmar.

Chairperson, Invest Myanmar Summit, Wai Phyo said “The upcoming Summit is to attract foreign investment and create job opportunities for the local people. The event will give an opportunity to those who need investment to meet with those who want to invest. It will also include informative sessions and discussions.”

In the Summit, investors can meet not only with the union government officials but also with the states and regions government officials from Kayin, Chin, Mon and Rakhine states and Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyawaddy and Tanintharyi regions. Officials from Myanmar Investment Commission and Directorate of Investment and Company Administration will attend the Summit to meet with investors from China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, EU, UK and US.

Chairperson, Invest Myanmar Summit, Wai Phyo said “The Summit will focus on 8 sectors which are manufacturing, garment factory, production and distribution of electricity, tourism, education, health, infrastructure and food industry. We will promote these 8 sectors for the states and regions of Myanmar.”

National Project Bank which is indicated in the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan and the investment opportunities which is available in the regions and states will also be displayed at the Summit. About 800 people are expected to attend the Summit.
