The meeting of the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development (UEHRD) construction and infrastructure task force took place in Yangon on Thursday with the attendance of the chief coordinator of UEHRD.
At the meeting, the members of UEHRD construction and infrastructure Task Force made the brief presentations about their respective tasks, difficulties faced and the future works.
Chief Coordinator Dr. Aung Tun Thet then pointed out the UEHRD under the mounts of international pressures and discussed the works conducted in Rakhine State by the Task Forces.
Chief Coordinator, UEHRD, Aung Tun Thet said “Today meeting is about working procedures by the construction and infrastructure task force. The procedures and guidelines of construction and infrastructure task force is to built temporary shelters for the 30,000 returnees at Hla Phoe Khaung transit camp requested by the government. Many private entrepreneurs not only from Yangon but also from other regions as well as the leaders of ethnic people contributed this project altogether and well constructed these temporary shelters to assist for the country.”
Activities of UEHRD are carried out by 10 Task Forces that focus on providing humanitarian assistance, resettlement, development, raising funds and awareness for the people of Rakhine.
The ten task forces were: Construction and infrastructure; Agriculture and livestock breeding; development of industrial zone; communications, information and Media; Job creation and Vocational Training; Healthcare; financial inclusion; crowd-funding; Tourism promotion and international relations.
Chief Coordinator, UEHRD, Aung Tun Thet said “Currently, we are ready for the returnees and we keep looking forward and trying to establish the better environments in the Rakhine State. We passed almost two year milestones with UEHRD’s attempt, so we keep going with strength and prove the accurate information to the international communities how we prepared and arranged for the returnees.”
Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development (UEHRD) will be celebrate 2nd year anniversary in the 18th of October.
