Preparations for Election: Sagaing Region CM inspected preparations for election

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, Region Government members, the Chairman of the Naga Self-Administered Zone Leading Body, region-level department officials, District/Township Administration Committee Chairmen, and the Chairmen and members of District/Township Sub Election Commissions visited and observed the field verification and cross-checking operations underway in Talan Ward, Lahai Township, Naga Self-Administered Zone, on the morning of December 2.

This joint effort by the Township General Administration Department, the Township Sub-Election Commission, and the Ministry of Immigration and Population aims to ensure the successful holding of the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election. The inspections focused on ensuring voter lists are comprehensive, leaving no one behind, and are accurate and complete. They also warmly greeted local ethnic nationals.

Following this, the Region Chief Minister and officials visited the Indoor Stadium at the People's Sports Ground in Lahai Township. They observed local ethnic nationals and citizens checking the publicly posted second-round voter lists in Talan  Ward. They also observed a demonstration and test voting using MEVM voting machines within the stadium to practice for casting votes in the election.

Furthermore, they inspected the completed re-excavation and cleaning/beautification works of the 3-acre Moe Dan lake in Lahai Township, the installation of solar-powered electricity systems, the 50,000 highland coffee seedlings being cultivated for distribution to local ethnic people, and the ongoing Advanced Domestic Sewing Machine Training Course No. (10) for local ethnic women at the Women's Home-Based Vocational Training School in Lahai. They coordinated with responsible officials to address necessary requirements. 

Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and officials visited the Theravada Buddhist Missionary (Central) Monastery in Lahai လဟယ် Township, where they offered alms and donation items to the presiding Sayadaw. The Region Chief Minister also supplicated religious matters.

Later, the Region Chief Minister and officials visited the People's Hospital in Lahai လဟယ် Township, where they offered words of encouragement to local ethnic nationals receiving medical treatment. Accompanied by responsible officials, they distributed nutritional supplements and presented one million kyat to the Hospital Superintendent for the hospital staff, it’s reported.
