Preparation Measures: VSG discusses measures for Consecration Ceremony

Plans are underway to hold a consrcretion ceremony for Maravijaya Buddha Image on August 1st, the Full Moon Day of Waso along with the ceremony to hoist umbrella for the surrounding cetis and libation ceremony.

A coordination meeting for these religious occasions took place on Thursday. Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the meeting and made a speech.

He said for the successful holding of the ceremonies, the Leading Committee was formed alogn with 9 Sub-committees. He stressed the needs to make preparation measures systematically with added momentum by the respective sub-committees. He also emphasized for security measures, and the pilgrims wil be allowed to enter till August 16th free of charge after the ceremonies.

After that period, the entrance fee will be collected as per the international standard, and he called for drafting the plan for this. The officials later reported on work undertakings, and the meeting ended with closing remarks by the Vice Senior General.
