Preparation For 32nd SEA Games: Qualifier Match for selection of boxing players

Cambodia is going to host the 32nd South East Asia Games 2023 in Phnom Penh. Myanmar Boxing Federation is making preparation measures to take part in the upcoming SEA Games.

In order to choose the selection players, a qualifier match was held at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Minister U Myo Hlaing, Director General of the Department of Sport and Physical Education U Htun Myint Oo and departmental officials enjoyed the qualifier match.

Altogether 10 boxers participated in Men (51/54) Kilo class, (57/60) Kilo class, (63.5) Kilo class and (67/80) Kilo class and women (54/57) kilo class. Depending on their skills, the selection will be made for the upcoming SEA Games. After the qualifier match, the Union Minister met with the boxers and urged them to have good stamina, to build self-confidence and to observe weak and strong points of the rivals. And he also stressed the boxers to take care of their health during camp training, to prevent from having injuries while practicing, to follow the training system of the trainers and to try hard for the competition.
