Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Sunday chaired a meeting on prevention and control of the new coronavirus pneumonia and called for strong, decisive and scientific measures to control the epidemic outbreak. Li said since the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan City of central China's Hubei Province, the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council have made a series of important arrangements.

The country will coordinate resources nationwide and prioritize efforts to support the province and its capital with medical workers and resources such as protection suits and surgical masks, the meeting decided. The meeting urged quicker breakthroughs in research of vaccines for the virus, saying experts and researchers must work together in the process and social organizations must be encouraged to participate. China will step up cooperation with the World Health Organization as well as communication and operation with relevant countries during the epidemic control process, according to the decision released by the meeting.
