









With the village-level poverty alleviation project among Mekong-Lancang countries, an preliminary meeting on quality assurance system development action plan (Phase-II) of small and medium- scale fishery product manufacturing enterprises was held at fisheries training school of Bago Region on 10th March with the attendance of Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut, region Ministers, departmental officials and entrepreneurs of the fisheries industries.
Firstly, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and Deputy Minister Dr. Tin Htut gave opening remarks respectively and the director general of the fisheries department reported regarding with quality assurance system development action plan of small and medium- scale fisheries product manufacturing enterprises. Later, Bago Region Chief Minister and party took group photo with entrepreneurs.
In Bago Region, a total of 157 small and medium-scale enterprises such as fish paste, dry fish, salted fish, fish sauce, fermented fish and prawn productions are under operation and plans are underway not only for local consumption but also for foreign export as the value-added healthy products and to get FDA approval based on the advices and recommendations of the meeting.
Later, Chief Minister and party attended the opening ceremony of 800-ft long and 12-ft wide Laterite-hard based rural product transport road, in honor of the 78th anniversary of Armed Forces Day and they cut the ceremonial ribbon.
After that, Daw Nyo Nyo Win Deputy Director General of Rural development Department (Head office) discussed about the project setting up model village on poverty reduction among Mekong-Lancang countries and one of the local residents spoke words of thanks for it.
And then, Chief Minister and officials sprinkled scented water onto the signboard of new rural product transport road, took the group photo and inspected the new road.
Next, Chief Minister and party attended the provision ceremony of drum seeders for the development of agricultural sector at the community-based agricultural observatory camp of Pha Yar Gyi Town, Bago Region. Then, they provided drum seeders to farmers and coordinated for the establishment of commercial farms from manageable scale with the cooperation of department of agriculture.
Later, Chief Minister and party looked around the implementation of systematic mechanized farmlands of 121.44 acres with the allocated funds of 163. 04 million in Ga toke Ma village-tract of Daik-U Township and the summer paddy cultivation with the roller type (6-row) drum seeder, which has been used in conjunction with the innovative hand tiller according to the guidance of the regional government. And then, he instructed to conduct public awareness for the widely use of this device in coming rainy, it’s reported.
