Preferential Lending Program for Rice Project Launched

The State Bank of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the governments of 12 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, held a conference to launch the preferential lending program for the 1-million-hectare high-quality, low-emission rice project in the region.

The event took place on Thursday morning in Đồng Tháp province. Credit organizations reported a lack of specific legal mechanisms to implement preferential credit packages for the project effectively and swiftly. In response, the State Bank of Vietnam has coordinated with ministries, sectors, and local authorities in the Mekong Delta to develop and issue the preferential lending program.
