Pre-emptive action: PDF terrorists planed to spoil Thingyan arrested

The members of security forces are hunting down the so-called PDF terrorists, who are trying to sabotage the annual Myanmar Traditional New Year Thingyan Water Festival, intimidate the people who are preparing to participate in the festival, spoil the administrative mechanism of the government.

Acting on tip-off, the security forces captured member of Special Task Force-STF PDF Zaw Min Thein (a) Myat Thu with a Glock pisto, one magazine and 5 rounds of .380 bullets in Mya Yi Nandar Housing, Chammya Tharsi Township, and Mandalay Region in the evening on 6th April, 2023.

According to information from him, the security members raided “Nyein Thaya” hostel sheltered by Special Task Force-STF PDF Leader Ivan in Chanaye Tharzan Township and captured terrorist members Nan Myo Aung and Shine Wunna Tun (a) Shine Shine (a) Gadone with 3 homemade pistos, 13 rounds of .99mm bullets, 6 wire triggered hand grenades there.

Following the formation given by the captured terrorists, the members of security forces conducted clearing area of near OakPho Village and in the village school in Sagaing Township sheltered by the members of Special Task Force-STF PDF and arrested PDF terrorist member Thawtar Tun was arrested with one FGC-9, 11 handmade guns, handmade launcher, 5 magazines, 115 rounds of various bullets, 81 grenades made in China, 28 homemade grenades, 15 improvised mines, 5 handmade drop bombs, materials and equipments of making weapons, one binoculars, a bullet proof vest, bullet proof cap, four walky-talky machines, 60 sets of guerrilla uniforms. 20 sets of guerrilla ankle boot, 20 boxes of various medicines, 9 motorcycles, 7 units of iron cutters and iron drill machines and one handcuff.

According to the revealing of the captured terrorist members, they formed Special Task Force-STF during October, 2022 with 15 members led by Ivan (remained to arrest). According to the revealing by the arrested PDF terrorists, they killed at least 13 peoples including innocent men, women and administrative persons.

They have plans to explode water throwing pandal near Ocean Supercenter at the west of Mandalarthiri football ground, Thingyan padals in front of Mandalay Palace moat and crowded areas during Thingyan festival. Even they have chosen 3 places within one mile area of Mandalay Palace to attack Mya Nan San Kyaw palace with drop bomb using drone.
