Powerful tornado: 2 villages in Lewe Township hit by tornado

The tornado destroyed hundreds of houses, school, rural medical center, monasteries in Aung Myin Gone and Dada-U villages in Lewe Township at 6:20 PM on April 21 and it left a total of 109 local people including 37 men, 72 women injured.

The local Tatmadawmen, members of Myanmar Police Force, members of Fire Brigade, departmental officials and volunteers carried out emergency rescue works and conveyed the injured persons to the nearest hospitals to receive medical treatment.

The injured persons received medical treatments at the hospitals were inspected by Lt. Gen. Than Tun Oo from the Office of the Commander In Chief (Army), Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Brigadier General Wei Lin and officials and the foodstuff were provided and necessary requirements were coordinated.
