Power Transmission: MOEP Union Minister inspects hydropower facilities in Pyinmana

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, along with officials, visited the Paung Laung Diversion Weir in Pyinmana Township on Saturday.

Officials presented a feasibility study on generating electricity using the hydromatrix system. They then conducted inspections of water inflow and storage conditions. Upon arriving at the Paung Laung Hydropower Plant, officials provided updates on power generation, annual water inflow, power transmission, and plans for increasing power generation capacity.

The Union Minister instructed for generator maintenance, the installation of a spare feeder line, and enhanced security measures for the facilities. He also provided cash assistance to the staff and addressed their needs.

Additionally, they inspected the power control room, turbines, and the power transmission process. Later, they visited the Paung Laung Dam, where they received updates on the installation of the Hydraulic Elevator Dam on the spillway.

The Union Minister also assessed water inflow, storage conditions, the water intake building, and the installation of water gates to enhance storage capacity and dam durability.
