Power Supply: Union Minister makes inspections in Nay Pyi Taw Council

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han made inspections in Nay Pyi Taw Council area on Saturday. First, the Union Minister inspected visited the Nan Cho Hydropower Plant, inspecting the 167 feet high dam, intake building and water tank storing 2.6 million gallons of water and hearing reports.

After inspection, at the hall of the Plant, the Union Minister also heard reports on implementation of hydropower projects in the Sittaung River Basin and the Nan Cho Hydropower Plant’s electricity distribution process and gave necessary instructions.

Also, the Union Minister held talks with officers and staff of the Plant and provided cash assistance. The Union Minister continued his inspection trip to the site in Zeyathiri Township where a thermal power plant will be constructed and heard reports on land selection, water availability status and geological conditions of the underlying rock.
