Power Supply: Efforts for resuming power supply in cyclone affected areas

The Ministry of Electric Power is carrying out for speedily resuming of power supply to the areas damaged by the Cyclone in Rakhine State.

Due to the powerful cyclone Mocha that has struck on May 14th, power distribution has been cut in Sittwe, Rathataung and other areas in northern Rakhine State.

Union Minister U Thaung Han on Wednesday held a coordination meeting on the process. They also inspected the damaged power posts, clearing works for reconstruction of power distribution lines and arrival of equipment of maintenance works.
