Power Supply: Construction of Sub-station project inspected

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun accompanied by departmental officials inspected the construction site of 500 KV Hlaingthaya (West University) sub-station project in Hlaingthaya Township, Yangon Region on 27th October.

The Union Minister and party heard reports on project implementation including 500 KV Payagyi-Hlaingthaya Power transmission line project, 500 KV Hlaingthaya (West University) sub-station, 500 KV Payagyi sub station and related projects as well as tasks to be implemented.

Upon reports, the Union Minister instructed on timely implementation of the projects initiated with the State Fund, systematic management of the projects due to priority list as well as the assigning of sufficient workforce of both man and machine to accelerate the work implementations.

The Union Minister also stressed to emphasize on workplace safety, systematic utilization of the machines and equipment, meeting set standards as well as systematic fund allocation. Then, the Union Minister inspected the construction of Control Building and Switch Yard, installation of transformers, Shunt Reactor as well as Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear and provided necessary instruction.

Once the 500 KV Hlaingthaya (West University) sub station project is completed, sufficient electricity will be successfully distributed to Southern part of Myanmar through 500 KV transmission line. During the construction period, electric power have been distributed through 230 KV power line. As of today, 79% of the whole project have completed and efforts are exerted to complete the entire project in April, 2025.
