Power Supply: Construction progress of Payagyi Sub-Station Project

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun along with the departmental officials on Wednesday made inspection on working process of 500 KV Payagyi Sub-Station Project in Bago. The project is being implemented by Department of Power Tramsmission and System Control.

After hearing the reports on working processes of the station and future plans by the officials, the Union Minister urged all to put efforts in projects to complete in time. He also emphasized that that equipment for the project are needed meet the set standards.

Currently, efforts are being made to supply electricity with the use of  500 KV system, the Union Minister pointed out the need to supply electricity with 230 KV initially.

The Union Minister later met with the engineers who are participating in implementation of 500 KV Payagyi and 500 KV Hlaing Thayar (West Yangon Technological University) Power Station Projects.

During the meeting, the Union Minister urged the staff for constant learning on technology to participate in future projects of the Ministry with the aims to develop human resources and turn out quality staff.

Then, the Union Minsiter viewed around the construction process of Control Building, installations of Transformers and Shunt Reactor, and Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear. At present, 75 % of 500 KV Payagyi Power Station project have been completed and efforts are being made to complete cent percent in coming December.
