Power Plant Project: Magway Region CM inspected power plant project

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin accompanied by Region Minister for Natural Resources and departmental officials, inspected the implementation process of 100 MW (Gas Engine + Solar Hybrid) power plant project which is being built near Thapyay San Village of Magway Township on Saturday.

On the inspection tour, the Chief Prime Minister and party viewed around the construction of 100 MW (Gas Engine + Solar Hybrid) power plant project and heard reports on the construction status by Region Chief Engineer and responsible officials from Magway Hybrid Power Co., Ltd.

Next, the officials reported that 100 MW (Gas Engine + Solar hybrid) power plant is under construction for the adequate electricity supply in the country. Then, they later reported on the construction status of 100 MW solar power plant and 126 MW natural gas power plant, 32% completion of the ongoing project and 65% of natural gas power plant and operating conditions with natural gas engines.

Upon the reports, Chief Minister gave the instructions on timely completion of construction with worksite safety in a specified period and other necessaries. The power plant project was commenced to build on 25th July, 2022 with over 218 million USD and is expected to be completed on 15th February 2024.

At the completion of the project, natural gas will be transmitted through 132 KV Ma Gyi Kan gas distribution center (Magway) which have 15years operation life time.
