Portuguese Foreign Minister official state visit to Indonesia

Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho paid on an official visit to Indonesia. Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Portuguese Foreign Minister discussed cooperation between the two countries in several pivotal sectors.

Minister Retno told there has been a remarkable growth in Indonesia-Portugal investment value by 2,000% from 2019 to 2022. Investment on renewable energy and the blue economy were discussed as priority sectors.

She also states that both countries share the similar views on the importance of expediting the completion of the Indonesia-EU CEPA negotiations. Minister Retno also reports the ever-growing cooperation with Portugal in three sectors, namely in maritime, palm oil, and renewable energy sector.

Both parties also explore collaboration in blue economy, fisheries, and combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing.
