
Portugal continues to face soaring heat with several parts of the country already under red alert due to high temperatures that may peak in coming days.The national weather service predicts temperatures of up to 46 degrees Celsius in some regions, and the riverside capital Lisbon may reach 41 degrees Celsius.The country has been experiencing high temperatures for several days and some 2,000 firefighters are battling wildfires across the country.On Saturday Portugal's government declared a state of heightened alert that will run from Monday through Friday.
