Pope prays for peaceful solution to Ukraine tension

Pope Francis prayed for a peaceful political solution to tensions in Ukraine during his traditional Sunday blessing. "The news coming from Ukraine is very worrisome," said Francis. "I entrust every effort for peace to the intercession of the Virgin Mary and to the conscience of the political leaders," he added, urging everybody to pray in silence.

Tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to rise as Western intelligence officials warn that a Russian invasion of its neighbor is increasingly imminent. U.S. officials say Russia's build-up of firepower has reached the point where it could invade on short notice.
