Pope Leo XIV visits Ankara

Inaugural foreign visit of Pope Leo XIV to Turkiye began on Thursday as the pontiff arrived in the capital Ankara. The Pope’s visit will begin with Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Following this, Pope Leo will be welcomed with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex, where he will meet with Turkish President Recep TayyipErdogan. The pope will be in Turkiye from Nov. 27 to 30, visiting Ankara, Istanbul, and Iznik.
