Pope Leo XIV prays for victims of typhoon in the Philippines

After leading the Angelus prayer, Pope Leo XIV expressed his "closeness to the people of the Philippines who have been hit by a violent typhoon". More than one million people were evacuated as floodwaters rose before Super Typhoon Fung-wong's landfall on the archipelago nation's east coast.
