Pope Leo XIV meets local church leaders in Istanbul

Pope Leo XIV attended a private meeting with religious leaders at the MorEphremSyriac Orthodox Church, in Istanbul.

During the third day of his visit to Turkiye, Pope Leo XIV visited the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. After the Blue Mosque visit, Leo held a private meeting with Turkiye’s Christian leaders at the Syriac Orthodox Church of MorEphrem. Later in the day, Pope Leo XIV held a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Church of St. George.
