Pope Leo XIV arrives in Monaco on a surprise visit

Pope Leo XIV arrived Saturday in Monaco for a surprise visit and then he was greeted by Monaco Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene at Monaco’s heliport. In his address from the balcony of the Prince's Palace, the Pope condemned what he termed the widening chasms between the poor and the rich.

He also added that wealth should serve law and justice especially at a historical moment in a clear reference to the growing number of conflicts across the globe. It was known that Pope’s visit was a significant one testifying to the Monaco Principality’s importance within the Catholic Christian world.
