Pope holds talks with Orban, Novak in Hungary

Pope Francis met Friday with Hungarian President Katalin Novak and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban upon his arrival in Budapest at the start of a three-day visit. Francis was first hosted by Novak at the Sandor Palace in the capital, where he signed the guest book.

He then sat down for discussions with Orban. Hungarian officials say Francis’ pilgrimage was designed primarily to let the pope minister to the country’s Catholic community and to encourage its members in their faith.
