Pope Francis participates in the Arena for Peace initiative

Pope Francis landed in Verona to take part in the Arena for Peace, an initiative promoted to call for a ceasefire and the protection of refugees and civilian populations. He also visited the faithful of this northern Italian city. His first stop was the Basilica of St. Zeno, where he was welcomed with applause by religious and consecrated people. Once inside, the Pope stopped to pray before the relics of the patron saint of Verona.
