Pope Francis has expressed concern over the recent violence in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where nearly 150 civilians have died since early June.

The killings, reportedly carried out by the ADF group linked to Islamic State, include a massacre that resulted in 42 deaths overnight from Wednesday to Thursday. The Pope has called on national authorities and the international community to take decisive action to stop the violence and ensure the protection of civilians in the region.
