Pope Benedict's body placed in monestary chapel

The body of Pope Benedict XVI was on Sunday placed in a chapel of the Vatican monastery where he lived until his death, to allow his closest aides to pay their final farewells.

Benedict’s body lay on a burgundy-coloured bier, with a rosary in his hands and dressed in a miter. St. Peter's Basilica will host Benedict’s coffin starting on Monday.Thousands of faithful are expected to file by the coffin in three days of viewing, ahead of his funeral on Thursday.
