Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a joint meeting on Wednesday with leaders from Cyprus and Greece. Cyprus President and Greek Prime Minister attended the meeting on the construction of a 2,000 km gas pipeline linking vast eastern Mediterranean gas resources to Europe through those countries and Italy at a cost of $7 billion.

U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE ,MIKE POMPEO said "As we cooperate on these important energy issues, I know we will improve our security and prosperity even more broadly between our four nations. We believe this deeply when free countries with free markets act together, work to develop infrastructure for energy, greater security always follow us, and I know this too, if we do this right we will attract the investment that will maximize these resources in a way that good infrastructure are open markets always too. I look forward to cooperating with each of you in this opportunity in the Eastern Mediterranean, Thank you."

Lebanon - Pompeo's next stop - has warned its Mediterranean neighbours that the planned EastMed pipeline must not be allowed to violate its maritime borders.
