Police present at high school a day after fatal knife attack

Following the tragic knife attack at High School in Nantes, France on April 24, the prefect of Loire-Atlantique, along with a significant police presence, has been stationed outside the school. This deployment is part of heightened security measures in response to the incident, which resulted in the death of a 15-year-old female student and the critical injury of another. 

The assailant, a 15-year-old male student, was apprehended by teachers and is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation. In the aftermath, French Prime Minister has called for stricter school security measures, including the potential use of metal detectors, and proposed new policies to address youth knife violence.
