Police Conferences: MPF Chief Attends In Chile And ROK

Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo returned from police conferences held in Chile and the Republic of Korea. The Chief of MPF and party attended the 88th INTERPOL Conference organized in Santiago, Chile from 15th to 19th October and the 74th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic of Korea Police and the conference of Police Chiefs from Asia-Pacific Region in Seoul, the Republic of Korea from 21st  to 23rd October.

The 88th Interpol Conference was attended by chiefs and deputy chiefs of police forces from 194-member countries, General Secretaries from ASEANAPOL, EUROPOL, AMERICAPOL and AFRIPOL, the President and the General Secretary of INTERPOL’s Executive Committee, officials and experts from the world-recognized technology organizations for security and rule of laws sectors.

At the conference, the participants reviewed major criminal cases across the world in 2018-2019, possible criminal cases in 2020, expectations, law enforcement measures of police forces and capacity building programmes.

The meeting also focused on proactive measures of police in preventing crimes, community policing, technology crimes, cybercrimes and partnership among police forces. The Chief of MPF also met with President of INTERPOL’s Executive Committee Mr Kim Jong Yang to discuss capacity building of MPF and cooperation of INTERPOL in fighting against terrorism.

As a separate meeting, the MPR Chief also talked with the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police. Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo also held informal meetings with police chiefs from China, the Philippines, Malaysia and Bangladesh.

The MPF Chief and party also attended 74th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic of Korea Police and the conference of police chiefs from Asia-Pacific Region in Seoul, ROK on 21 October.

The MPF Chief also held a private meeting with the National Police Commissioner of the Republic of Korea to discuss fighting against cybercrimes, scientific investigation, conducting anti-terrorism training courses and technical assistance of ROK.
