Police: 1 killed after shooting at DC train station

Washington's Metro Center station was closed Wednesday evening after a federal officer shot and killed a person along the platform, according to the city's Transit Police Department.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. and police are investigating. In a statement, the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) said a federal officer opened fire and fatally struck one person and that the officer involved was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
