Poas Volcano, one of Costa Rica's tourist attractions, remains on orange alert due to an increase in gas emanating from its crater, which makes it more likely to erupt.

The 2,708-meter-high colossus, located 50 km from San José and surrounded by dense forest, experienced heightened activity on March 1, prompting local authorities to restrict visits, without suspending them. They have a lot of information that indicates that there is an influx of fluid from the depths.

They don't know how it will develop, but it is an influx that creates a worrying situation," explained French volcanologist Geoffroy Avard, from the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica.
