


In order to prevent Wuhan pneumonia, monitoring measures are speeding up at Mandalay International Airport, according to the official of Department of Public Health in Mandalay Region.
Currently, the pneumonia outbreak occurs in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. Officer of Department of Public Health (Mandalay Region) Dr. Than Than Myint said that preparedness is ready for virus suspicious persons and five hospitals in Mandalay Region are also made arrangements for disinfection, monitoring and prevention.
Head, Department of Public Health (Mandalay Region), Dr. Than Than Myint said “Firstly, we are going to make medical checkup in the clinic to the virus suspicious persons. If we find, we will send them to the hospitals. Today, we are going to coordinate related works with professor heads from those general hospitals. The next procedures are going to conduct by the general hospitals like H1N1 monitoring functions.”
There is direct flight between Wunhan City and Mandalay and other about 10 airlines connecting to China are also running. According to the international medias, 44 persons are infected and 11 are severed currently in Wuhan city, China. On 5th January, Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health and Sports informed to make preparedness and preventive measures for the pneumonia virus in Myanmar.
