PM Ishiba to discuss reforms with opposition

Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru expressed willingness to discuss political and social security reforms with opposition parties.

Speaking at a news conference after visiting Ise Jingu shrine, Ishiba emphasized the need for collaboration between the ruling coalition and the opposition to address current and future challenges.

He called for thorough discussions to gain public understanding and support. On political reforms, Ishiba hoped for a resolution by March regarding the potential ban on business donations to political parties.

He also expressed readiness to engage in electoral reform talks, aiming to provide voters with accurate information.

Additionally, Ishiba highlighted the importance of maintaining sustainable social security systems and pledged to create systems where all generations contribute. He called for cross-party consensus on pension reforms.
