The main event of the Ploughing Festival kicked off on February 4th (the 7th day of the Lunar New Year) at Duy Tiên Town, Hà Nam Province, Viet Nam.

The festival also featured beautifully decorated buffaloes that won top prizes in the Buffalo Painting Contest held the previous day.

This year’s Buffalo Painting Contest attracted 20 painters and artist groups from various provinces and cities. The plowing ceremony, a crucial part of the festival, symbolizes hopes for favorable weather and abundant harvests while highlighting agriculture’s significance during feudal dynasties.
