




Purchasing a Picasso for a few tens of thousands of francs is a dream that will soon become a reality: seven previously unseen ceramics by the modern art giant will be auctioned on June 19 in Geneva.
The director of the Piguet auction house explained that "each of these dishes and plates was painted directly by Picasso's hand, and they are not only unique but also never before seen". The renowned Geneva auction house will also be offering a unique Yves Klein's first blue monochromes for sale. Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
The prolific Spanish painter died in 1973, aged 91. He created thousands of plates, platters, vases, pitchers, and other earthenware utensils in the Madoura ceramics studio, run by the pottery couple Georges and Suzanne Ramie.
