Philippines takes over ASEAN defence chair, vows to uphold unity and regional peace

The Philippines’ Defence Secretary Gilbert Teodoro pledged to strengthen solidarity amid rising regional security challenges as the country assumes the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM-Plus chairmanship from Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Under the theme “Navigating Our Future Together”, Teodoro said the Philippine delegation will strive "towards their shared aspirations for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Southeast Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region”.
