Pesticide Registration Board: 45th Meeting of the Board held in Nay Pyi Taw

The 45th Meeting of the Pesticide Registration Board was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation's Union Minister’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on May 29.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Pesticide Registration Board Deputy Minister Dr. Tin Htut delivered opening remarks, stating that pesticides are one of the essential inputs that contribute to the increased yield of major domestic crops and export-oriented crops.

He emphasized the importance of using high-quality and safe pesticides effectively and noted that the procedures and processes related to pesticide registration are being systematically restructured to ensure better standards.

Following that, the Secretary of the Board presented the pesticide registration applications that needed to be discussed and approved at the 45th meeting. The meeting carefully reviewed and discussed each application in detail. It was reported that since the first meeting in 1993 up to the 44th meeting in December 2024, a total of 4,393 pesticide types had been approved for registration. At this 45th meeting, the board reviewed and processed 185 pesticide types for approval.
