Peru to probe over 500 child sex abuse claims in Indigenous schools

In a roundtable with the press in Lima on Monday, Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen said the alleged sexual abuse of 500 Awajun Indigenous students by teachers in the jungle region will be investigated and the victims must receive comprehensive psychological and health care.

The Prime Minister also added that he appropriate investigations must be carried out to determine the responsibility of the alleged perpetrators of these acts and, of course, to provide timely attention to the children and adolescents affected by these acts.
