Archaeologists recovered ancient human remains and artifacts that had been discovered by workers while digging a road in a rural area in northern Lima, Peru. The crew which was working to lay gas pipes found eight bundles of burials, including six children, belonging to an 800- to 1,000-year-old pre-Hispanic culture.
It also recovered some pottery and other ceramic artefacts at the scene as well. The findings suggest that the place may have been a cemetery for children who died from severe anaemia resulting from a climate event that would have hit local agriculture, back in the day.
